Waipio Sonata is an instrumental track inspired by the challenging Waimanu Valley Big Island hike my friend Brian Igoe and I undertook long ago. Like the hike, the piece has three sections: an opening inspired part that traverses Waipio Valley, a middle difficult slower part, and a final uplifting "we have arrived" closing.

The gorgeous soprano saxophone playing is by Yil Ozpay.

The painting for the cover image is "A Lady Playing the Clavichord" by the 17th century Dutch artist Gerrit Dou.
